How does this link to Christian teachings?

As you know the company is named Christian Aid and as you also know Christianity is a religion. So how do the two link together I hear you ask? Well read on to find out more.

The quote "Love you neighbour as you love yourself" Clearly reflects the work of the charity. For example you may or may not have seen my other page on campaigning, but Christian Aid recently held a trade justice campaign. Imagine if you worked 12 hours a day putting all your energy into it just so you can get the smallest amount of food for your family, but some weeks you can't even do that. Because the multinational companies are getting payed over double what you earn when they do half the work. It's not fair, no body would want to be treated like that which is why Christian Aid are campaigning about it. They know that here in the UK we wouldn't want that to happen to us so why do we do it to other countries?

To add to that the quote "Money is the root of all evil" can also have an impact on the way we treat others. It seems that the richer countries are not helping the poorer countries as much as they should be. Christian Aid also campaigned for climate justice. Which asked for the government to help the less fortunate when climate change is acting against them and putting them into further poverty. This will help because it means that the country can be built up again into the finances that they deserve.

Overall the good Samaritan is basically what Christian Aid are being. They are taking pity on those who are less fortunate by helping them become equal to others. The good Samaritan is a vital Christian teaching but doesn't just occur to those who believe in the religion but to everybody who would like or is willing to make a huge differences in the way others live.
